The City Council of the City of Westmorland met in Special Meeting in City Hall on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 6:00PM. Mayor Xavier Mendez called the meeting in order at 6:00PM and led the invocation.
Present at time of roll call:

Absent:
− Council Woman Judith Rivera.
Council, Staff & Consultants - Discussion/Action:
I. Discussion/Action: Approval of Budget 2022-2023, by Teri Nava (Treasure).
Tabled till next Regular Scheduled Meeting of July 6, 2022.
II. Discussion/Action: Approval of Election Resolution 22-16 by Christine Pisch (City Clerk) and Xavier Mendez (Mayor) Mrs. Pisch made a brief statement of the Election Resolution 22-16. Motion by Council Woman Justina Cruz second by Ray Gutierrez. 3-0 Approved.
III. Discussion/Action: Approval to Hire WTP / WWTP Operator by Ramiro Barajas (Public Works) Discussed the need of the WTP / WWTP Operator and approval to post on more platforms such as News Listings and Indeed. Motion by Council Woman Justina Cruz second by Mayor Pro-Tem Ana Beltran. 3-0 Approved.
IV. Discussion/Action: Approval in Removal of Former Employee(s) from All Insurance Plans by Xavier Mendez (Mayor) Discussion in going over all current Insurance Plans and requesting to remove all who are no longer City Employees. Motion by Mayor Pro – Tem Ana Beltran second Council Woman Justina Cruz. 3-0 Approval Staff Reports Non-Action Items:
□ Police Department Perry Monita Police Chief – Mentions the Westmorland Elementary School wants a part time Police Officer, to be on the school grounds due to the previous school shoots. Wanting better safety for the students and staff at the Westmorland School.
□ Fire Department Sergio Cruz Fire Chief – Nothing to Report
□ Public Works Ramiro Barajas – Reported that he wants to look into the USDA Grants for the Water Plant’s needs.
□ City Hall Supervisor Tami Castro – Absent
□ City Treasurer Terri Nava – Absent
□ City Clerk Christine Pisch – Requesting Councils opinions on posting the upcoming Election to the public.
Closed Session:
• Discussion of Wages for Police Department Personnel – Police Chief. (Gov.t Code §54957(b)(1).) Public Employee Compensation (Government Code 54957.6) Council adjourned for Closed Session at 6:14PM adjourned back into regular meeting at 6:24PM. Nothing to Report After Closed Session.
