CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Council Member P. Shelton, Seconded by Council Member A. Teter to approve minutes from the regular city council meeting on May 9, June 13, and June 27, 2023. Vote called – AYES: All. Motion carried.
REGULAR CALENDAR
1) City Manager Bill Zenoni presented the staff report for Consideration and Adoption of Resolution approving an Employment Agreement with Brian Wittmer for position of Police Chief.
Police Chief Damiean Sylvester retired from his position effective July 8,2023. A recruitment process was completed for six applicants by the City Manager, Police Chief, and City Council Ad-hoc committee. The top three candidates were then selected to be interviewed by a professional panel, and Brian Wittmer was selected as the most qualified candidate. An employment agreement included provisions for term, hours, and compensation.
It was moved by Council Member P. Shelton, Seconded by Council Member A. Teter to adopt Resolution No. 28-23 approving an employment agreement with Brian Wittmer for the position of Police Chief. Vote Called – AYES: All. Motion carried.
REPORTS
Fire Chief A. Paquette reported on National Night Out.
City Manager B. Zenoni reported on Yuba Sutter Recology’s annual rate adjustment along with the draft flyer for Recology clean up day. At the July 25th council meeting there will be a traffic status report update.
Council Member A. Teter commented on the sidewalk at Wheatland Ranch. 2 There being no further business, Vice Mayor B. Coe adjourned the meeting in honor of Bill Harrison at 6:10 p.m.
