Public Comment:
■ Dawna Cash-Vargas asked about the community clean up aspect of the grant. ■ Community Development Direct Duley stated that those dates would be determined if the grant is awarded to the city.
■ Reporter for the Willits News asked what the percentage of success of receiving the grant is and what hurdles or roadblocks may there be in meeting the three-year mandate of completing the grant funded project.
■ Community Development Director Duley responded that this is a highly competitive grant and that around 50% of the applications put in for this grant were awarded in round one. There is less money available this round so Mr. Duley is guessing that 30-35% of the applications will be awarded. Mr Duley also responded that any time you are taking on a grant project there in an inherent risk. We always have to be careful with what we· take on, the good thing with these grants is that the city is allowed to identify funding for third party services to help assist and augment staff's ability.
