Resolution XX-2026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WILLOWS
TO APPOINT A QUALIFIED COUNCIL APPLICANT TO FILL A VACANCY ON THE WILLOWS CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, a vacancy was created on the Willows City Council due to the resignation of former Council Member Matt Busby on July 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting on July 14, 2026, the City Council elected to fill the City Council vacancy by appointment pursuant to California Government Code Section 36512; and WHEREAS, on August 18, 2026, the City Council conducted interviews of qualified applicants for the vacant City Council seat; and
WHEREAS, following the interview process and deliberation, the City Council selected a qualified applicant to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term ending in November 2028.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Willows as follows:
1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by this reference.
2. Pursuant to California Government Code Section 36512, ____________________________ is hereby appointed to serve as a member of the Willows City Council and to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Council Member Matt Busby for the unexpired term ending in November 2028.
3. ____________________________ is a resident of the City of Willows and a registered voter of the City of Willows and is qualified to hold the office of City Council Member.
4. The appointed Council Member shall be formally sworn in and seated on August 25, 2026, at which time the Council Member shall take and subscribe the required oath of office and assume the duties of office.
