CALL TO ORDER
The City Council/Successor Agency to the Yorba Linda Redevelopment Agency convened at 6:31p.m. in the Council Chambers at 4845 Casa Loma Avenue.

City Attorney Todd Litfin said Councilwoman Janice Lim would be recusing herself from participating in the Parks and Recreation Commission interviews. Councilwoman Lim elaborated and disclosed that applicant Sara Catalan was her campaign manager when she ran for City Council in the November 2022 election. Councilwoman Lim recused herself from Chambers and Mayor Gene Hernandez stated that Councilwoman Beth Haney is participating via Zoom.
The City Council interviewed the following applicants for the Parks and Recreation Commission vacancies: Rachel McLure, Doug Dickerson, Mike Weiner, Erin Hamilton, Sara Catalan, Samantha Bigonger, Jess Battaglia and Dawar Naqvi. Mayor Hernandez thanked all applicants for their participation and willingness to serve the community. A conversation ensued regarding the candidates, their qualifications and who would serve the remainder of Councilwoman Lim's term. Mayor Hernandez asked his fellow colleagues to announce their top four (4) candidates.
Councilman Carlos Rodriguez selected the following applicants: Doug Dickerson, Rachel McLure, Erin Hamilton, Jess Battaglia Mayor Pro Tem Tara Campbell selected the following applicants: Rachel McLure, Doug Dickerson, Erin Hamilton, Mike Weiner Councilwoman Haney selected the following applicants: Rachel McLure, Doug Dickerson, Erin Hamilton, Sara Catalan Mayor Hernandez selected the following applicants: Rachel McLure, Doug Dickerson, Erin Hamilton, Jess Battaglia Applicant Jess Battaglia received two (2) votes and Sara Catalan and Mike Weiner both received one (1) vote. A discussion continued among Council regarding the three applicants to determine Council's majority and agreed on Jess Battaglia as the fourth appointment.

Councilwoman Lim joined the meeting.
The City Council interviewed the following applicants for the Traffic Commission vacancies: Steven Folkes, Matthew Cugini, Michael Rothans and Dennis Equitz. Mayor Hernandez said that all of the applicants were terrific and thanked them for applying. He asked his fellow colleagues to announce their top three (3) candidates.
