He said Black Gold Golf Course (BGGC) was voted Annual People's Choice Best Of Orange County for the second consecutive year, and they hope to earn the recognition again in 2025. He discussed revenues and expense challenges, including labor cost and availability, fuel costs and the overall increase in cost for items. Rounds played increased to 62,796 versus 58,872 in FY 22-23. He spoke highly of their food and beverage offering, specifically Derrick's Grille which is a standalone restaurant that uses premium ingredients and offers holiday dining events. With respect to marketing, Director Reilly said BGGC leverages their website, email and SMS marketing, social media channels as well as print and onsite promotions and community engagement. He said hosting live ESPNLA radio programming has also provided invaluable exposure. He concluded his review by discussing future projects which include the continuation of the storm drain project, which caused the sinkhole a few years ago, and the solar project. Both projects will impact day-to-day operations but they are confident they will move forward successfully.

Another significant arrest occurred on October 29th where a suspect was arrested for burglary and was involved in the theft of approximately $5,000 worth of merchandise from the same retailer in four different Orange County cities. She said in terms of crime prevention they held their Safety Week event at Costco on September 19th and attended the Senior Wellness Expo on October 5th.
