BRIEFLY ST ATE WHY YOU WISH TO SERVE AND WHY YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE QUA LIFIED FOR THE POSITION. (Attach additional page if necessary)
As a mom of two young children and local resident, I have enjoyed the services of the Yorba Linda Public Library for the past five years. Apart from checking out books and materials, I have also attended many programs, including storytime, presentations, art instruction and DIY classes, as well as community events. I strongly believe that the library provides indispensable resources to children, teens and adults in our community. I would love the opportunity to assist the city and the library with its programming, services, and policies.
I am part of a key demographic of the library resources, not only as a patron myself, but also as a parent of two young kids, who also participate in library programs and check out books. I believe that I will provide a unique perspective on the committee. Through my prior leadership experience in professional and academic organizations, I have extensive experience in reviewing policies & procedures, soliciting community feedback, and organizing events. I understand that good leaders are foremost good listeners and I strive to be fair and understanding. Finally, I am very interested in making sure that this key resource is available and accessible to all Yorba Linda residents and continues to be a pillar of our community.

The Yorba Linda public library is one of the bedrocks of our community. The library provides more than a place to check out books, it is a community gathering spot, a do-it-yourself studio, a place that provides opportunities to learn how to play music, star gaze, hike, learn a new language, or seek a quiet refuge to study and contemplate.
I am an active participant in our library and a frequent patron. I want to be part of the conversation that keeps our library in the forefront of public libraries. I also want to be a voice for our community in how our library can continue to be one of our city's crown jewels.
As a Planning Commissioner, I understand the importance of community involvement and participation. I appreciate the need to bring balanced and reasoned consideration to policy decisions. I will bring that same spirit to the library commission not only to continue its legacy of excellence but to work to ensure our library remains one of the best in the country.

BRIEF LY STAT E WHY YOU WISH TO SERVE AND WHY YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE QUALIFIED FOR THE POS ITIQ N • (Attach additional page if necessary)
It would be an honor to serve the city I have lived in for over fifteen years. I have cultivated qualities that I believe are essential to effective service-dedication, discipline, and resilience which have shaped my approach to leadership and my commitment to making a positive impact. I have always aspired to give back to a community I value so much and continuously gain knowledge and learn from those who have maintained Yorba Linda to be the land of gracious living.
Working for Caltrans, I have the privilege of being an advocate for the public and their safety. I would advocate for the library to prioritize materials based on popularity and need within the community. Rules and policies should be established based on recurring issues. At my current position in Caltrans, I look at what traffic elements have chronic issues, send reports, communicate, and collaborate with different agencies on how to improve and implement policies for the public.
Communication and networking are very important when keeping the public informed of Library policies, needs, and services.
