Do you currently live in Yountville? Yes
Are you a Yountville Business Owner? No

Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I want to continue to serve on the Yountville Community Foundation Board to be part of a growth mechanism for the Town of Yountville, to preserve and grow a dedicated source of funds for community benefit, overseen by community members actively involved in the Town, and to encourage innovative approaches to social entrepreneurism and community benefit.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? I perceive my role on the Yountville Community Foundation Board to be one of financial stewardship and fiduciary responsibility for overall community benefit. I anticipate that there may be some dissemination of information to the public, for general awareness of a community foundation and its benefits, fund development, decision-making regarding expenditures or grants from the fund, and regular meetings to assure proper guidance as well as reporting to the community, residents, and the Town Council.
How would you represent the interests of the community? I would continue to engage and interact with my fellow Yountville residents, listen to and learn from neighbors, business owners, workforce, and visitors to make decisions with the interest(s) of community in mind.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I would bring 19 years of experience in administrative management and budgetary oversight at two regional nonprofit grantmaking foundations, a keen interest in community service, as well as ongoing interactions with the public sector.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
Napa Valley Transportation Authority Citizen Advisory Committee (2018-2020; 2021- present); Town of Yountville Community Foundation, Director (2021-2022); First Presbyterian Church of St. Helena, Session Member (governing board) (May 2022- present); Library Commissioner, Town of Yountville, Napa County Library Commission (2014-2021); COMMUNITY ORGANIZED RELIEF EFFORT (CORE) COVID-19 testing sites in Napa County (2020-2021)
Anything else you would like to tell us?
I graduated Leadership Napa Valley, Class 31, and received the John Wagenknecht Leadership Award. Through my work at two nonprofit community foundations for over 18 years, I have helped to steward resources that benefit communities in the arts, community development, health, education, environment, and social justice. Community service is my passion, and I want to serve Yountville as a member of its Community Foundation Board. Thank you for considering my application.

Do you currently live in Yountville? Yes
Are you a Yountville Business Owner? No
Are you registered to vote in Yountville? Yes
Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I want to serve on this committee because I feel that my personal and professional goals align with the goals of the Yountville Community Foundation. I have the skills to promote and raise funds to support community-based programming to benefit the residents of Yountville. I have many years of experience in program development to improve the health and quality of life for children and adults with chronic diseases. As a resident who lives full time and works in Yountville, I would have the time and means to fully participate in foundation activities to respond to funding opportunities, planning and resident meetings and to plan and implement program and event logistics, recruit and train volunteers and participate in fund-raising events.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? I perceive my role on this committee to be involved in promoting and raising funds to support community-based programing to benefit youth, adults and senior residents of Yountville. I perceive that my participation would include conducting surveys with residents on community program needs, identifying funding opportunities or planning fund-raising events, collaborating or partnering with local businesses to support and/or sponsor youth recreation and education, community based wellness and enrichment programs and other initiatives to support life-long recreation and education for all ages of residents in Yountville.
How would you represent the interests of the community? I would represent the interests of the community as a full-time resident who works in Yountville. I enjoy all the different town events ranging from the art, wine and food experiences to learning how to knit a blanket, yoga instruction, listening to music in the park and watching movies. There is still more to experience in town, such as bocce and pickle ball. I also take full advantage of biking and walking paths and enjoy the ability to ride and walk at any time. To keep updated on what is ongoing on in town and learning opinions of town residents, I read the Yountville Sun, participate and review Nextdoor Yountville posts, watch Town Council meetings and have participated in the Chamber of Commerce activities and events.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
One of my greatest strengths is that I am committed and reliable on issues of interest to me, especially as it relates to my quality of life and residence in Yountville. I have expertise in staffing and advising boards and committees, and currently have experience as the Chair of a Donations Advisory Committee with responsibilities that focus on representing the interests of the Veteran Home members and supporting activities to improve morale, welfare and recreation. I have five years of experience in grant writing and was responsible for developing funding applications for chronic disease prevention programs. My special skills include developing budget proposals, analyzing state and federal legislations for program impact, managing projects and facilitating strategic planning.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
My volunteer experience in Yountville includes staffing/managing the Welcome/Registration Center and managing the wine pavilion for the Napa Valley Film Festival (3 years), staffing registration table for organized walks and bicycle rides (Crush Cancer, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association). I have also volunteered at the Art, Sip and Stroll event and the Yountville Days parade. Other volunteer experience includes conducting petition drives for State ballot initiatives to increase tobacco control and prevention and developed educational database for American Lung Association. I currently serve on the Hopper Creek Village Home Owner Association (HOA) Board of Directors (BOD) in a voluntary capacity. My responsibilities include chairing the Architectural Review Committee and developing and maintaining a HOA website. I also create email communications to Home owners as requested by the HOA BOD. I have been responsive to Home owner concerns and provide the most accurate information and resources to Home owners to maintain a healthy and safe living environment.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
I am always looking for ways to improve my psychological and physical health and feel fortunate that I live in a town that prioritizes the health and welfare of their residents. I would like to use my work, education, volunteer and personal experience to contribute to the Yountville Community Foundation. I feel that my experience in grant writing, program set up to focus on health and wellness for communities and recruiting and working with volunteers will support the purpose or goals of the Yountville Community Foundation.

YOUNTVILLE ARTS COMMISSION

Interests & Experiences
Do you currently live in Yountville? Yes
Are you a Yountville Business Owner? No
Are you registered to vote in Yountville? Yes
Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I recently retired and fee like I finally have the bandwidth to get more involved in our community. The Arts Commission is of great importance in Yountville, seeing as our Art Walk attracts a worldwide audience. It would be an honor to serve and support this committee, and I would enjoy having a roll in shaping how art is featured in our community.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? I perceive the role to be of a collaborative nature, helping to promote the arts and identify/evaluate possible new art forms and events that can be featured. Art helps us pause to appreciate what is around us. Thus, the Arts Commission has the opportunity to create experiences for residents and tourists that promote our town and bring people together.
How would you represent the interests of the community? I live in Yountville and love this town. I am immersed in our local culture and socially connected with many members of our community. Prior to moving to YV, I was a frequent visitor, so I possess both a tourist and resident perspective.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I've enjoyed a successful career in sales and management, where I mentored staff, developed sales plans and achieved goals via influence and collaboration with a multitude of individuals at all levels. Having previously served on the General Plan committee, I have a familiarity with our town board protocol. I have a genuine interest in bringing value to this committee. I am a patron of the arts, supporting our local museum, the Lincoln Theater, the De Rosa, the Uptown, etc. I've also participated in the Yountville Out Loud events, sharing original poetry.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
Please refer to above comments. Outside of YV, I have travelled twice to Nicaragua, building homes for Habitat for Humanity. I've also enjoyed baking treats and taking them to the veterans home up until the pandemic. Hoping that can resume soon! Anything else you would like to tell us?
I'd love to see us leverage and deepen our connection to the Yountville Veterans Home by featuring more art and artists that highlight the veterans that have served our country. Thank you for considering my application.

Interests & Experiences
Do you currently live in Yountville? No
Are you a Yountville Business Owner? Yes
Are you registered to vote in Yountville? No
Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I would like to continue on the Yountville Arts Commission for another term. We've had many different Commissioners as we matured and I think this group is the strongest I have ever been a part of. We all have our strong personalities and use our diverse expertise while working on various Commission sub-committees and projects. I think this group is the best and most active we have ever had and I hope to continue working with them.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? Yountville Arts Mission Statement reads: Recognizing that the ARTS are integral and essential to the vitality and balance of community life, the MISSION STATEMENT of Yountville’s Arts Committee is: “To provide vision, leadership, inspiration and support for artists and their art in Yountville, creating a bridge that links artists, community, visitors, business and government.” This is always foremost in our project planning and participation.
How would you represent the interests of the community? Our Yountville community is considered first in everything we do. We seek opinions and approval prior to being involved in anything. From the beginnings of the Art Committee, we have moved cautiously to be sure that we are welcomed and accepted by our community. We strive to bring new creative ideas to Town that enhance their quality of life while encouraging recognition as a visitor friendly environment.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
My retail, business and art experience all contribute to the Commission's goals. I sit on the Art Walk sub-committee and assist in selling the sculptures. I also work to find new sculptors for us. as well as coordinate the de-installs and installs. Working with artists can be very fun but also can be very challenging and I think my experience helps further our success. I also serve on the Art Gallery sub-committee and help find new artists to display as well as help curate the art and hang the Gallery. I am on Art, Sip & Stroll subcommittee and have helped to continue to build and strengthen the event.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
I served for five years on the Napa Valley Museum Board, 3+ of which as President. I am a member of the Yountville Community Fund Board and have spent many years on the Yountville Arts Committee/Commission.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
I enjoy working on the Commission and am especially enjoying the involvement and commitment of the current Commission members. It is a privilege to work with them and it is a privilege to work as a Commissioner for the Town. The support we receive from our Town is rare in the non-profit world and again, it is my privilege to be a part of Yountville Arts. I hope you allow me to continue for another term.

Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I continue to be passionate about making art available to our community and visitors alike - whether for purchase or to admire it displayed along the art walk or in our gallery and as we've now extended our subcommittees to add a Performing Arts Committee, I feel there's great room for enhanced programs to be added.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? The role of an arts commissioner is to support existing programs like Art, Sip & Stroll and gallery exhibits, but it's also to strive to create new opportunities to share art with more people. For example, in adding music or some sort of a short performance to our art openings, we are enhancing a successful program with the goal of attracting new patrons, and we are supporting additional artists. Also, in working with the town to support the Music in the Park concerts, the Arts Commission is gaining visibility to ensure more people are aware of our programs and the work we're doing behind the scenes. My goal is to continue supporting while also initiating new ideas that continue to stimulate, entertain, please, and generally make our town proud.
How would you represent the interests of the community? In addition to what I've already stated above, I feel commissioners need to listen at least as much as they talk. By talking to community members I've generated and proposed ideas to my fellow commissioners that came directly from community interests. I am the only commissioner who lives in Rancho de Napa, where there are a majority or seniors on a fixed budget. I make it my priority to listen to my friends and neighbors so I have an understanding of how our programs are perceived by the very wealthy and also be our community that aren't in that same classification.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
As a past event planner I am capable of supporting events as they are while seeing ways that things can be improved upon. Also, in addition to being an artist, I'm creative at marketing sense and am able to come up with event names and cop. I can write releases and pieces such as "Art has a Seat at the Table".
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
In addition to serving as a commissioner the last two years, I was co-chair of the Home Winemakers Classic in 2021, and a team-oriented volunteer in 2019 and 2020 (which was unfortunately cancelled). I have volunteered to work as staff for Napa Valley Grape Growers STOMP in the past as well. Given I work full time, my volunteering has always been around my work.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
It has been a great pride to serve as an Arts Commissioner the past two years, and after the first year's meetings were via Zoom, and somewhat intimidating, I feel like I'm finally coming into my stride and doing my best 'work'. I hope to continue being a solid contributor in the future!

Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? Previously serving two terms as Commissioner and bringing forth new programs and events for Yountville Arts, I would like to continue to do so and additionally to contribute to building the reputation and awareness of the Arts within our community and beyond.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? My thoughts on the role of this Commission continue along the same path but have grown in scope. I perceive the Arts Commission’s role to be one of service to the Town of Yountville in providing support and recommendations for current cultural arts endeavors, supporting artists and their work, and developing new and innovative ideas for continued growth of the arts in Yountville. Having served two previous terms, an additional point of focus has been, and will continue to be, building awareness of Yountville Arts throughout the community and beyond.
How would you represent the interests of the community? In an additional term I would continue to represent the community interests by creating and developing opportunities in the arts for our residents and businesses to share, enjoy, and work on together. Recent new programs I have worked on i.e. ART, SIP & STROLL original posters and SHOP THE YOUNTVILLE ART WALK have brought revenue to the Arts Commission with an eye toward economic growth and continued exposure for the Arts and the Town of Yountville.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I have had a career as an executive and 'creative' in the television and film industry.
Additionally I have a strong business and marketing acumen and currently create and produce digital marketing assets for lifestyle and hospitality clients. I have previously served two terms on the Arts Commission creating and working on numerous projects and additionally serving on the Chamber Marketing Committee and Chamber Board of Directors. Having the ability to work with both YAC and the Chamber allows me a greater vision, understanding, and ability to bring the entities together in supporting the arts in addition to the community at large.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience. *Two terms on the Yountville Arts Commission *Chairman of the YAC Marketing Committee/ART, SIP & STROLL Committee member *Currently, Chairman Yountville Chamber Board of Directors/ Previously, Vice Chair Yountville Chamber Board of Directors *Previously, Chairman of the Yountville Chamber Marketing Committee/ Currently sitting on the committee *Current member of the Producers Group, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences

It is with genuine enthusiasm that I would look forward to signing on for another term as Commissioner, Yountville Arts!
