Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? Being in the real estate field, I feel I can bring some good insight to this housing committee for our town.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? Helping to find solutions to the always short worker housing situation that affects our town.

I have spoken with many other business owners about this issue and feel I can give some good ideas to the committee.

Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I am interested in supporting affordable housing in Yountville. I believe participating in the oversight of the way that the Measure S funds are spent is a worthwhile contribution to the community. I have learned quite a bit about how affordable housing projects are implemented through by participation over the last two years. By continuing my participation on the Committee, I can bring what I have learned so far to the ongoing work of the committee.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? My understanding is that the committee reviews activities of the Town after they have occurred to make sure that the activities and expenditures meet the objectives of Measure S funding.
How would you represent the interests of the community? I represent a typical resident/homeowner in the community. Since this is primarily a committee that reviews activities and expenditures after the fact, there likely are not going to be a lot of resident opinions or interest in the specific objectives of this committee.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I have a good understanding of the legal and operational aspects of real estate transactions and development activities. During the first part of my career as an attorney, I worked on real estate and development projects and am conversant with the concepts involved in lending, leasing and real estate transactions.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
I am currently serving on the ZDRB in Yountville and also have served for two years on this committee. Previously I served on the Planning Commission for the City of Orinda, as well as the Rent Board of the City of Oakland. My service on the Rent Board in particular gave me an understanding of the importance of affordable and workforce housing from a tenant/renter perspective.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
I am applying for this committee in part because it has been difficult to recruit a sufficient number of members. In the event that there are multiple people applying for the three vacant community spots, I would happily allow others to have the opportunity to serve on this committee.

Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I finally feel strong enough to put my hat in the ring so to speak. It is time to give back to this community i have lived in and loved much for 25 years. The Foundation looks like a good fit for me. The idea of supporting what the town offers youth through to seniors is important to me . I also like the idea of involving businesses with the town offerings .
Together even more can be offered
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? Pam Zeidel several times presented to the friends of the library tje reasons for us to give our money donated to the Foundation, it sounded like they would bid it until the librarian or Board would tell Foundation what most was needed. She was very convincing about the safety of it and trusting them to properly manage our funds as I understand the Foundation works with projects the Town offers such as park and recreation offerings for teens up to seniors. It seems to speak for all, listening to requests, making recommendations for same. It works with art ad music offerings ,seems to accept requests for funds needed for those programs. And I believe it can assist in encouraging the business community to help with programs where they can be helpful they seem to assst with holding funds as we had them do for the Friends of the Library. I am unclear of if they have their own funds to help with programming if requested .
How would you represent the interests of the community? First I would want to hear from the Community what it wants from the Foundation, then hearing what the groups commissions committees, all see how the Foundation can offer them assistance be it support, finances, publicity , I see tge Foundation mu What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I enjoy working as part of a group , am a good listener and good at bringing folks together to problem solve My work developing the Farmers Market involved working h with the community, restaurants and wineries as well as vendors and d the community .
I would work with passion and energy to be involved in whatever the Foundation needed from me
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
I started with the Farmers Market many years ago, working not only with vendors but restaurants And vintners to offer tasting of food and wine as well as cookbook signing.
The community got involved and made the market evenings Townwide events. After several years when it ended I volunteered at townwide events such as Christmas Time, selling tickets, dishing out food and pouring wine. I participated in October parades for the Friends of the library and twice In the chili cookoffs. I joined Friends of the Librsry as a volunteer weekly for several wionderful years. Ad beginning in 1998 i presided over the Blessing of the Animals. Now that Covid is better God willing , I hope to see more 2 and 4 leggeds in October
Anything else you would like to tell us?
Think I covered it more or less

Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I am looking to give back to this wonderful community, meet more of my fellow neighbors and make a difference where I live. I want to be of service to the communities to which I belong.
What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? is to promote and raise funds to support community-based programming to benefit and serve the residents of the Town including, but not limited to: Youth recreation and education programs; Community based wellness and enrichment programs; Senior recreation, leisure, education programs and support services; Parks and facilities improvements; Cultural arts programs such as the Public Art Walk, the Gallery at the Community Hall, literary programs, visual and performing arts programs; and initiatives for events and programs staffed by community volunteers.
How would you represent the interests of the community? I would stay active in the community , socializing committee initiatives and help drive programs and feedback that benefit the community interests.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I've been told that I am very diplomatic. Likely the result of being a middle child. One of my greatest strengths is listening from a perspective to understand. I have been an activist my entire life. I consider myself a participant in life, with a can do attitude and strive to be a "yes" to the world. My positive attitude allows me to be successful at providing solutions, especially when having to think outside the box.
