A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF YOUNTVILLE APPROVING A $4,483 BUDGET ADJUSTMENT UTILIZING AVAILABLE FUND BALANCE IN FUND 23 PUBLIC ART PROGRAM FEE FUND CONTRACT SERVICES (23-5414-4210) TO ACCOMMODATE ARTIST STIPENDS FOR ADDITIONAL ART WALK SCULPTURES.
Recitals
A. Whereas, the Yountville Art Walk has 36 sculpture sites of which 23 are on a two-year rotation schedule. After a slowdown of new artwork applications over the past three years, the Yountville Art Walk has quite a few expired or extended-term sculptures. The late summer and early fall of 2023 has been busy with new sculpture applications and interest along with the Commission's approving to extend reimbursement for rising shipping and transportation costs up to $1,000 to encourage artist participation.
B. Whereas, Yountville Arts budgeted to place 6 new sculptures in FY 2023/24 totaling an expense for artist stipends of $15,000 plus $2,500 in other contract expenses for a total of $17,500 in Fund 23 – The restricted Public Art Program Fee Fund – Contract Services line item. (Fund 23 Total budget of $22,500).
C. Whereas, Yountville Arts has the opportunity to rotate additional timed-out sculptures bringing in new art and as such staff is requesting a budget adjustment of $4,483. The current fund balance is $4,483.
Now therefore, the Town Council of the Town of Yountville does resolve as follows:
1. Approve a $4,483 budget adjustment utilizing available fund balance in Fund 23 Public Art Program Fee Fund Contract Services (23-5415-4210).
2. The Resolution is hereby adopted and becomes effective and in full force immediately upon adoption.
