Mayor Mohler and Council Members –
On behalf of the Yountville Chamber of Commerce and our membership, I am writing in support of two projects under the Capital Improvement Program.

First, the allocation of funds for improvements to be made at the Community Center. We enthusiastically support additional investment to enhance activations at the Yountville Community Center, including the Plaza. The Yountville Community Center has become the center of town. Both the outdoor and indoor space have the potential to bring even more residents together and joy to our community. We hope these additional funds will support this vial space in Yountville.

Second, the allocation of funds to develop the South Washington Street Parking lot. This is a project that has been discussed for many years. We are thrilled the Town of Yountville is investing in this development. Discussions have been had about staging large scale buses and transportation vehicles at this lot. The chamber is committed to helping facilitate conversations with our transportation companies to ensure the build out of this lot fits their needs and will be used by their drivers. And also fits within our community and surrounding businesses and residents.

While it might not be obvious, both of these projects support the economic development of our community. The goal of economic development is to improve the well-being of everyone in the community. Economic development involves strategic initiatives aimed at fostering growth, enhancing competitiveness and creating a vibrant, resilient economy.

Both projects are a great reminder of how economic development looks different in each community.

The Town Council and the Town of Yountville making investments in projects that support better infrastructure and a vibrant community is critical to the future success of Yountville.

We thank you for this commitment.

As always, thank you for your partnership and appreciate your consideration on the comments above!
