Dear Town Council,
I submit this research article for your review.
Benefits and Conflicts: A Systematic Review of Dog Park Design and Management Strategies
While I think many agree that the addition of a dog park to the Yountville community would be a welcome amenity, I am not confident there has been enough consideration of the proposed location, design elements and management strategies in order to maximize the benefits and avoid any potential conflicts necessary to make the temporary dog park a success for all parties involved.
I think the linked article does a very good job raising and addressing both the pro and con issues of community dog parks and I urge you to take this under advisement. Otherwise, it seems what might be a very positive undertaking could quickly become decisive in the community.
As someone who will live within 150ft of the proposed park, community education, self-policing, noise and feces are my biggest concerns.
Thank you for your further consideration of this matter.
