Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? I have enjoyed serving on the ZDRB and serving the efforts of the Yountville Planning Department with the development of the General Plan and on the ZODO Ad Hoc Committee; I see, first hand, the importance of volunteers to these efforts. I also really enjoy the work and interaction with others who serve the town on the ZDRB. It would be a pleasure to continue serving this board.

What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? .

How would you represent the interests of the community? .

What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I have strong backgrounds in Architecture, Design, and Business as well as excellent communication skills. I have led my practice, Steven Miller Design Studio, Inc. for over 20 years and won multiple awards and recognition of many publications. My approach is thoughtful, versatile, and rooted in the pedagogy of the built environment. I have been active in business organizations (AIA, IIDA) I know how to work collaboratively to serve a collective purpose.

Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.

Aside from being a current member and Chair of the Yountville ZDRB, I serve on the board of the Napa Rail Arts District (RAD). My history of community involvement and board membership includes: Leadership Napa Valley, San Francisco Design Museum Board, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) Design Forum, and Shanti Foundation Volunteer (peer to peer).

Anything else you would like to tell us?
I have a great respect for the Council and Commission's commitment to preserving and enhancing Yountville's character and built environment. I was happy to be able to participate in the Envision Yountville workshops leading to the formation of the newest General Plan. I have been heartened by the tremendous efforts by the town to plan for the future while preserving its natural, and cultural assets.

Name, Addresses and Phone numbers of three (3) individuals familiar with your background (Please do not use council members as references).
