Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? In 2022, I shared that I have a strong interest in community affairs and Recreation & Parks, and I have prior experience in community based organizations, projects & activities that include the Arts, Sports, Recreation, & cultural activities. I have vast experience with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department going back to 2004, and would be delighted with an opportunity to bring some of that perspective and enthusiasm to my hometown. I believe my experiences related to volunteerism, collective problem solving & public service have not only been valuable but have also been a significant, positive and most rewarding life enhancement. Now, that I have had an opportunity to work with my colleagues for a couple of years in connection with various matters, I’m strongly convinced that each opportunity to formally meet on agendas related to our Rec/Park programming on behalf of our Town Council is a monthly highlite for me and a privilege I value.

What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I have strong attendance & preparation habits. I work well with others whether leading or supporting. I’m known to be respectful & professional, kind & considerate. I’m also strategic & laser focused and I’m opposed to suppressing a minority even when the votes are present to do so. Fundamentally speaking, I’d work hard to make certain that this community in its entirety feels represented well, especially when things don’t go exactly the way a particular individual(s) wanted. I’m committed to fairness, respect and sensitivity to our residents expectations, goals, & objectives, and I’m able to be firm with outcomes.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
I serve on State certified Apprenticeship boards and organized, advocated & initiated to establish the first state certified Horticulture Apprenticeship program with the City/Recreation & Parks back in 2010 https://sfrecpark.org/1202/Gardener-ApprenticeProgram.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
I’m proud of recent efforts through the largest funder of Napa County Measure U (California Alliance for Jobs,) with NVTA Chief Kate Miller and her external staff that should bring just under $1,000,000 to Yountville at a critical point in time. To me, this vote of confidence by the electorate only further supports the notion that our elected leadership, Town Manager, Parks Director & others, have earned full faith and confidence from the citizens they serve.
