STATEMENT ON VALUING, SUPPORTING, AND PROTECTING MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES April 1, 2025
The Yountville Town Council recognizes the long and storied past of our marginalized communities, including members of our immigrant, LGBTQIA+, and minority communities. These individuals are local leaders in agriculture, tourism, education, business, healthcare, and other professions, anc they are at the greatest risk of being subjected to acts of discrimination, oppression, and violence.

Members of these communities are integral to every aspect of our community. They are our friends, colleagues, and neighbors with whom we have built and continue to grow a thriving and inclusive Town.

We remain dedicated to protecting an inclusive environment where all individuals, including the members of our marginalized communities, feel safe and secure and can access the resources they need without fear. The Town Council will navigate the path forward together with the members of these communities with trust, collaboration, and respect.

In 2009, the Town Council adopted an Equal Rights Resolution (4-1-09) that supports equal rights and equal employment opportunities and prohibits discrimination based on age, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, or physical disability.

We are committed to building and protecting a diverse community by renewing our dedication to a vibrant, inclusive, and equitable environment that provides opportunities for employment, civic engagement, safety, and freedom from racism, discrimination, xenophobia, and hateful acts of violence. We also support the mission of the Napa Valley Community Leaders Coalition, which mobilizes leaders throughout Napa County to advocate for the needs of vulnerable populations.

On behalf of the Yountville Town Council, we reaffirm our dedication to being a model for inclusion and equity, working together to build a vibrant community that is free from discrimination, xenophobia, and hateful acts of violence.

Sincerely,
Margie Mohler, Mayor
