Interests & Experiences
Do you currently live in Yountville? Yes
Are you a Yountville Business Owner?
Are you registered to vote in Yountville?
Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? 30 years ago, I served for 3 years on the City of Sebastopol Design Review board as their Landscape Architect. I felt very connected to the City by being involved in the oversize of new projects. Twenty seven years ago, I relocated to the Napa Valley for work, settling in Yountville to raise my two sons. I have worked as a Landscape Architect since that time developing projects throughout the valley: residential, commercial, municipal. I have also provided professional and consultant services to the town and its residents over the years, inclusive of design of Veteran's Memorial Park, several pocket park modifications from turf, resident landscapes, consultant to Hotels, consultant to veterans for landscape improvements, Xeriscape lectures to the community, Yountville Elementary School garden projects, Heritage tree assessment and plaque for Grandfather Oak. Because the Town has a new Administrative staff:

Town Manager, Town Planner, Planning Director, Public Works Director, I no longer feel as connected or able to provide my professional input and experience to the Town as I once did and I miss that involvement. Being an empty nester now, and not involved with Kiwanis anymore, I have the time and interest to donate my expertise and experience as a Landscape Architect and seasoned resident to the Design Review Board.

What do you perceive is the role of this Board, Commission, or Committee? .

How would you represent the interests of the community? .

What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I bring 47 years experience practicing landscape architecture, 27 of those in Yountville and the Napa Valley which has involved the development of parks, athletic complexespickleball, bocce, swim centers, play fields, dog parks, multi family homes and subdivisions, affordable housing , wineries and tasting rooms, residences and estates.

Expertise on site and master planning, Construction documents: Demolition, grading and drainage, planting, irrigation, lighting, construction detailing: Outdoor kitchens, arbors, pergolas, pools, spas, veggie gardens, fencing, Value Engineering , Bid administration and Project observation. Anything else you would like to tell us?
I am looking forward to taking a more active role to help visually and functionally meld the new and old of our town to achieve a successful and lasting legacy for all residents and generations to come. I am more of a centrist, not too liberal or conservative. I enjoy being a problem solver and appreciate the successful use of compromise. I will always work to protect the unique and visual beauty of a property and environment. I understand sustainability and what it entails. I will always respect each applicant's vision and work to help achieve it.
