1 NAPA COUNTY OFFICE OF SHERIFF-CORONER
1535 AIRPORT BOULEVARD

OSCAR ORTIZ
Sheriff - Coroner
Response to entertainment zone:

1. The potential health and safety impacts that might be generated by the entertainment zone and strategies to mitigate those impacts:

The Sheriff’s Office concern regarding potential health and safety impacts that might be generated by the entertainment zone is the Hard Road Closure’s and keeping the pedestrians safe within the closures. Meridian Barriers (mobile barriers) designed to keep vehicles out of the closure shall be used when necessary. These mobile barriers can easily be moved in the event of an emergency, which would require emergency vehicles to access the closure. The Napa Sheriff’s Office will be purchasing these Barriers (betterbarriers.com) but depending on conflicting events within the County of Napa, they may not be available for a Yountville event.

2. The entertainment zone’s proposed boundaries days and hours of operation:

All alcohol related crimes to include but not limited to, public intoxication, minor in possession, will be enforced per the California Penal Code. Additional staffing from the Sheriff’s Office may be necessary, depending on the size of the event. Most of the time (if not all) the current Yountville Sheriff staffing will be able to accommodate the event and addition staffing will not be necessary.

Commitment to Community
