RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution Number 26-4403 approving the use of $68,500 of Fiscal Year 2025/26 General Fund Assigned for Budget Contingency to increase expenditure budgets for General Fund – Parks and Recreation – Camps 01- 5406.
DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
Staff are requesting a budget transfer to support Camp Y-Ville expenses for the remainder of the 2025/26 Fiscal Year.
The increase in the expenditure budget is due to the increasing number of campers accepted each week.
Accepting additional campers requires the addition of a bus as well as added expenses for supplies and parttime staffing. Also added was the use of contracted busing services for transporting campers to and from the Calistoga pool on Tuesdays.
The Budget Contingency transfer of $68,500 will be applied as follows:
$37,000 to 01-5406-4011 (Part Time Salaries)
$24,000 to 01-5406-4210 (Contract Services)
$7,500 to 01-5406-4120 (Supplies & Materials)
It is important to note that there will also be an increase to revenue account 01-5406, as the Camp Programs have a goal of recovering all costs. The fees charged for Camp recover the majority of the associated costs.
This requested use of $68,500 of General Fund Assigned for Budget Contingency would reduce the current balance of $662,231 to $593,731 available for use in Fiscal Year 2025/2026.
