Good day, Council members,
In my absence at the meeting this afternoon, I would like to go on record for postponing any further plans on the YV Commons, as we know it today. I believe that there have been other suggestions proposed in various meetings. While these may have been or should have been an option upfront, one top contender would be to (re)consider using land at the Veteran's Home, where, as I understand it, there is a shortage of employees, partially linked to no affordable housing in our vicinity. This could mitigate the waiting list of Veteran's that would like to live at the home, but can't, due to employee shortage.
