RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution Number 26-4406 approving a budget adjustment in the amount of $236,678 for Law Enforcement Contract Services for fiscal year 2025/26 using General Fund Assigned for Budget Contingency.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
The current agreement between the Town and the County of Napa for law enforcement services reflects a total cost of $1,491,389 for fiscal year 2025/26. The fiscal year 2025/26 adopted budget for law enforcement services of $1,233,877 was based on direction from the County to reduce the expected cost because of a vacant position. This vacant position was filled during fiscal year 2025/26 resulting in this request for a budget adjustment.

The requested use of $236,678 of fiscal year 2025/26 General Fund Assigned for Budget Contingency will be used to increase the Law Enforcement Contract Services expenditure budget from $1,233,877 to $1,470,555.

This revised budget remains within the fiscal year 2025/26 agreement amount and will be enough to cover all law enforcement services through June 2026.

The current balance of the General Fund Assigned for Budget Contingency is $593,731. Approving this use of $236,678 leaves a balance of $357,053 available for the remainder of the current fiscal year.
