Pending Appointment of Interim Town Manager

Dear Mayor and Council: I'm not sure whether the Interim Town Manager appointment has been formally made, but I wanted to share a thought. Perhaps an obvious opportunity for an interim appointment as been overlooked. Fmr. Town Mgr., Steve Rogers, is still in Town and is available to serve in the interim Town Mgr. capacity. He has significant community support for his knowledge and skills; he knows the character of the local community; he has had a good working relationship with Town staff and Mayor/Council; and he is well aware of current challenges facing Yountville. Further, he would be available to serve in an extended interim position thru the election in November. Anyone in the position as an interim or as a new hire would surely want to know for whom she/he would be working, depending on the outcome of the local election. I'm sure the Council had a significant opportunity to collectively discuss and ratify an interim selection, if one has been made. If not and the discussion is ongoing, I ask that you seriously consider the pluses of offering Steve Rogers the opportunity to step-in as Interim Yountville Town Manager.
