How would you approach the volunteer position representing the community's interests?
Prior to providing any advice, comments, or suggestions, I try to educate myself on multi-modal plans, programs & projects administered by NVTA. I normally focus a great deal of attention on being prepared for meetings by reviewing agendas in advance, and when necessary, trying to get answers to any questions I may have from staff prior to meeting dates. My attendance is very strong because I look forward to the opportunity to learn more about impacts to the Town and to share information and if necessary, to bring it forward in an effort to advance the Town Council’s stated goals, and objectives. I also continue to enjoy meeting and working with experts from other parts of the county to increase my own institutional knowledge.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I am a quick study, a strong listener & a team player. I bring years of experience related to budget oversight, human resources, and contracts. I have been a transportation and infrastructure advocate professionally for the past two decades. I have had the opportunity to work on numerous campaigns related to revenue for related projects in northern california. Most recently, I liaisoned the California Alliance for Jobs support for Measure U brining hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Town. The CAJ was the largest campaign contributor.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
Among other things in other counties, I continue to serve as a Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission member (Vice Chair,) and I’m looking now to extend my service at the Napa Valley Transportation Authority community advisory committee. I’m actively engaged in a number of regional transportation measures, and highly value information, approaches & plans directly related to “on demand,” (the Bee,) as well as the completion of the Vine Trail (Yountville to St. Helena.)
