To the honorable City Council Members of Yountville,
I am writing in support of the proposed Sign Permit for the property at 6764 Washington Street.
This building has been a part of Yountville’s commercial history for many decades. Over the years, it has housed well-known local establishments and has long-featured signage that helped identify the businesses operating there. For many residents, veterans from the nearby Veterans Home, and longtime visitors to Yountville, the property is a familiar part of the town’s historic streetscape.
The proposed projecting sign is consistent with that history and helps maintain the building’s connection to its past, which has been such a friendly reminder of our past. Rather than changing the character of the site, it reflects the way the property has traditionally functioned as a recognizable and welcoming local business location.
I believe the proposed sign is appropriate for the building and respectfully encourage the Town Council to approve the Sign Permit.
