Dear Members of the Yountville Town Council,
I am writing in support of the proposed Sign Permit associated with the Use Permit Amendment for the property located at 6764 Washington Street.
The projecting sign proposed for this location is consistent with the historic character and long-standing commercial use of the building. As someone familiar with the property's history, I would note that illuminated signage has been a feature of this site for decades. Dating back to the 1970s, when the establishment operated as the Two Spot, the property displayed a lighted sign that served as a recognizable part of the streetscape. Later, when the original Pancha's Bar occupied the location, illuminated signage again identified the business and contributed to the building's presence within Old Town Yountville.
Given this history, I believe the proposed sign is entirely appropriate and fits with the historical use and character of the building. Rather than introducing something new or out of place, the sign reflects a tradition that has existed at this location for many years and helps preserve the property's connection to Yountville's commercial heritage.
For these reasons, I respectfully encourage the Town Council to approve the proposed Sign Permit.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ron Sciandri
