A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF YOUNTVILLE AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF A REPLACEMENT BACKHOE VIA THE TOWN’S COOPERATIVE PURCHASING ORDINANCE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $175,000 WITH CAPITAL FUND 82 IDENTIFIED IN THE FY 2026/2027 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT UP TO THE BUDGETED AMOUNT.

A. The Town of Yountville Public Works operations reply on a backhoe to perform essential maintenance, construction, and emergency response functions throughout the Town. The Town’s existing backhoe is a 2005 model, which has reached the end of its useful service life and is due for replacement.
B. The Town’s budget includes the Fleet, Tools, and Equipment Repair and Replacement Fund 82, which provides for the planned replacement of vehicles and equipment. The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies the replacement of the Town’s backhoe in Fiscal Year 2026/2027.
C. Staff has identified the John Deere 320P Backhoe as the appropriate replacement unit, representing the current model equivalent and meeting the operational needs of the Public Works Department.
D. Pursuant to the Town’s Municipal Code, Title 3 Revenue and Finance, Chapter 3.32.200, the equipment may be procured through a cooperative purchasing program. The proposed purchase will be made through Sourcewell Contract #011723-JDC from Pape Machinery.
Now, therefore, the Town Council of the Town of Yountville does resolve as follows:
1. Approves the use of Capital Fund 82, as identified in Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Program, for the replacement of the Town’s backhoe.
2. Authorizes the Interim Town Manager to procure a John Deere 320P Backhoe through Sourcewell Contract #011723-JDC from Pape Machinery in an amount not to exceed $175,000.
3. Authorizes the Interim Town Manager to execute the contract up to the approved amount.
4. This Resolution is hereby adopted and becomes effective and in full force immediately upon adoption.
