To whom it may concern,
Many people in Yountville, and perhaps beyond the town limits, have become aware of a whistleblower submission from a Town employee alleging misconduct by Council Member Trippe that is said to undermine transparency and the fundamental principles of good governance.
The reason for my public comment is not to address the allegations themselves, but to express concern that the submission appears to include serious accusations of illegal conduct that may be unsubstantiated. While the whistleblower process is an important and appropriate avenue for reporting illegal, unethical, or unsafe conduct, it should not be used to spread unverified claims or misinformation.
I strongly urge the Town’s leadership to conduct a thorough and impartial review to determine whether the allegations are supported by credible evidence. Failing to do so risks sending the message to Town employees and the public that truth and accountability are secondary to rumor and speculation. A fair, fact-based investigation is essential to protect both the integrity of the whistleblower process and the rights of those who are accused.
Respectfully,
Majel Arnold
