RECOMMENDATION
Receive a presentation from the Town Attorney on mobilehome rent stabilization and provide staff with direction on next steps.
DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
Numerous public comments at Town Council meetings have been received in recent months asking the Council to look into a mobilehome rent stabilization ordinance. The Town Attorney will deliver a presentation covering the following topics:
• What a rent stabilization ordinance does and doesn’t do. • What the legal requirements of an ordinance are.
• What is included in a typical ordinance.
• How an ordinance would be administered.
• A discussion regarding practical considerations and risks.
Staff’s presentation is attached to this report for review.
