Why do you want to serve on this Board, Commission, or Committee? The Town has an engaged volunteer community, and I'd like to be a bigger part of that.
How would you approach the volunteer position representing the community's interests?
I would like to explore all methods and opportunities, both large and small, to assist workers and residents with Measure S funds. With the Commons development in a period of restructuring, there are interim ways the Measure S funds can be put to use for workers while maintaining an 'in waiting' nest egg.
What strengths/expertise/special skills would you bring to the Board, Commission, or Committee?
I was the owner and manager of a small business with 10-15 employees for 37 years.
For most of our employees this was their first full-time job. I learned that even small measures of assistance at the right time helped the business retain valued people and helped the individual reach their life goals: replace a poorly insured stolen car, a no interest loan for up-front housing rental fees, continuing education for advancement, matching funds for mechanics tools purchases.
Please describe your previous community service and volunteer experience.
I was a board member or president of the HOA for The Sea Ranch Condo 1 for 5 years.
Primary responsibility was updating and funding the Reserve Fund program. In the early years of the Yountville Art Walk, I installed or assisted in the installation of many sculptures. From 1999-2004 I was a member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) GT class competition rules advisory committee.
