SUBJECT: Appointment to the Trails and Open Space Committee
RECO-IMENDATION
That 1\Mayor Pro Tern Beaver appoint one (1) member to the Trails and Open Space Committee.
DISCUSSION
Consistent with Resolution No. 201 4-81 establishing the rules of procedure for all City of Yucaipa commission and committee meetings and related functions and activities, a commission or commmittee member's teen shall be automatically tenninated if the member has missed 25% of the meetings in a 12 month period. One member did not attend the majority of the meetings in 2021 and at the September 7, 2021, Trails & Open Space Committee Meeting. the Committee recommended the member's term be terminated and that ',\,Iayor Pro Tern Beaver consider the appointment of a new member to the Conunittee.
The vacancy was advertised to the public and two (2) Citizen Ser\ ice Applications from residents interested in joining the Trails and Open Space Committee were received. Attached to this report are copies of the applications received.
Each Applicant has been notified of this meeting and advised that City Council desires their attendance in order to provide additional infonnation regarding their interest to sen e on the Connittee, if needed.

Why are you interested in this position?
I have been an avid mountain biker and have coached the Yucaipa Mountain Bike team for the past 12 years. During that time, I have enjoyed the use of Yucaipa's outstanding trail system. I would love to give back to the city and help to maintain and expand this resource for all the the citizens of the community.
