FOR: City Council Meeting of September 26, 2022
SUBJECT: Youth Advisory Committee Reappointment
RECOMMENDATION:

That City Council extend the appointment of Aden Benson, Brenna Lane, Chase Miller, Mallory Miller, Adelin Tulcan, and Maxwell Ubilus to the Youth Advisory Committee for an additional two-year term from September 26, 2022, to September 1, 2024.

DISCUSSION:

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) serves as an advisory body to the City Council and the intent is to improve youth involvement in City issues, activities and provide committee members a roadmap for success.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 2017-45, seven at -large appointments shall be made in odd -numbered years and six at -large appointments shall be made in even -numbered years and members shall serve two-year terms.

As of September 1, 2022, six members, Aden Benson, Brenna Lane, Chase Miller, Mallory Miller, Adelin Tulcan, and Maxwell Ubilus ended their two-year term on the YAC. All six members are requesting to be reappointed to the YAC to serve an additional two-year term. All members have enjoyed their time on the YAC and want to continue improving youth involvement in City issues, especially since the first year of their term was negatively impacted as a result of COVID. Reappointing the six members would result in a full YAC.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact as a result of this action.
