SUBJECT: Successor Agency to the Yucaipa Redevelopment Agency Reorganization RECOMMENDATION:
That the Successor Agency to the Yucaipa Redevelopment Agency choose one of its members as Chairperson and one of its members as Vice -Chairperson.
DISCUSSION:
Resolution No. 2012-07, Regulations for the Operations of the Successor Agency, states that the offices of the Chairperson and Vice -Chairperson shall be filled by members of the Board as approved by the majority vote of the Board.
Nominations for the office of Chairperson and Vice -Chairperson may be made by any member of the Successor Agency and need not be seconded in order to be effective. Each selection shall be by three or more affirmative votes. In the event that no person receives three or more votes in the selection process for one or both offices, the selection process shall be repeated immediately provided, however, that the two persons receiving the highest number of votes in the preceding selection process shall be the only nominees for the office to be filled. If, upon repeating the selection process for Chairperson or Vice -Chairperson, no person has received three affirmative votes for such office, the Successor Agency may either repeat the selection process until the officer has been duly selected or may continue the selection to the next regular meeting of the Successor Agency.
