SUBJECT: 2022 Winterfest Wrap -Up
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council receive and file the wrap-up report for the 2022 Winterfest.
DISCUSSION:
The 9th Annual Winterfest was held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Historic Uptown. The event was planned and organized with the help of the Winterfest Planning Committee, comprised of the following organizations and corresponding activities:

Advertisement
The goals of the 2022 Winterfest were to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season and encourage the community to shop local on Small Business Saturday. To maximize attendance, the following marketing efforts took place:
• Print advertisements in the Your Yucaipa Activity Guide. • Posting of event on the City and YPAC Facebook, Instagram, and websites. • Street banner placed on Yucaipa Blvd.
• Placement of press releases and advertisement in the News Mirror paper, on their Facebook and website.
The estimated attendance for the 2022 Winterfest was 6,500, which is more than previous years.
Positive feedback was received from participants and vendors. Food and merchandise vendors stated the event exceeded expectations. Revenues and expenditures for the Ice Rink will be included in the Ice Rink budget and will be presented in a report to City Council at a later date. 407
FISCAL IMPACT:
On October 24, 2022, City Council approved an itemized 2022 Winterfest budget with projected revenues of $7,800 and estimated expenditures in the amount of $39,525, for a net cost of $31,725.
The actual revenue generated from the event was $19,126.94 and actual expenditures totaled $39,653.51 for a net cost of $20,526.57, which equals a positive variance in the amount of $11,198,43.
