That City Council consider the appointments of James Jetton and Hansen Wang to the Healthy Yucaipa Committee.
Staff conducted recruitment for the commission/committee member appointments set to expire on December 31, 2022. On December 12, 2022, the City Council approved the appointments of Jeff Distelberg (Mayor Beaver's appointment), Meredith Sherwin (Mayor Pro Tern Duncan's appointment), Cynthia Lopez -Winter (Councilmember Venable's appointment), and Heather O'Bier (Councilmember Thorp's appointment) to the Healthy Yucaipa Committee (HYC).
Currently the Committee has one vacant Council appointed position and two vacant At -Large positions, which leaves three vacant seats.

In response, the City advertised a notice of vacancy in accordance with Government Section Code §54974 for the three vacant positions and has received two Citizen Service Applications for the HYC from James Jetton and Hansen Wang; to date no other applications have been received. Both applicants have been notified of the meeting and advised that Council desires their attendance at this meeting to provide additional information. Should Council appoint James Jetton and Hansen Wang, there will remain one vacancy on the HYC.

Why are you interested in this position?
I wish to build Into Yucaipa's health, I have been instrumental in helping Yucaipa Center for Health develop their plans for a free medical and dental clinic. I have been Dental Director for the Blessing Center in Redlands, and have provided expertise to other free clinics in the U,S, and abroad, as well as the San Bernardino Public Health Department, I believe that Yucaipa can be healthier, safer, and happier.
