SUBJECT: Cancellation of July 10, 2023 Council Meeting
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council cancel its regularly scheduled meeting of July 10, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
Since incorporation, the City Council has traditionally cancelled one of its regular meetings during the summer to give its members and staff time to take a vacation and rejuvenate. Staff has reviewed the summer Council meeting schedule and recommends that the Council take action to cancel the City Council meeting of July 10, 2023. This meeting is recommended to accommodate schedules during the 4rh of July week, which is when the preparation of the agenda packet would take place.
The primary concern when cancelling City Council meetings is the impact: it has on future meeting agendas. Planning this cancellation early allows staff time to mitigate any potential impacts and provides notice to the public in advance. At this time, it appears that there are no essential items currently scheduled for the July 10, 2023, regular Council meeting.
