SUBJECT: Acceptance of Contract Work — 2021-2022 Concrete Program — Project No. 11158 RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
1) Accept the contract work completed by CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc. in the amount of $80,517.90 for the 2021-2022 Concrete Program — Project No. 11158; and 2) Authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion for the Project.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On April 26, 2021, City Council approved the FY2021/2022 Pavement Management Program (PMP). Included as part of the PMP is the 2021-2022 Concrete Program (Program).
The Program included replacing cracked, broken or deteriorated concrete sidewalk, driveway approaches and curb & gutter at various locations throughout the City. The Program is also intended to meet the City's goal to improve pedestrian and ADA access throughout the City as part of the ADA Transition Plan adopted by City Council on February 22, 2016. The proposed Program included the replacement of damaged and deteriorated sidewalk along public streets/alleys throughout the City. Much of the sidewalk that was replaced had been reported by residents and the general public. The reported sidewalk related concerns were processed through the Public Works GIS based maintenance reporting system and were verified by staff prior to adding the work to the Program.
On June 13, 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc of Diamond Bar, CA in the amount of $77,701.60 for the Program. The City Council also approved the amount of $8,000 for construction contract contingency and $6,000 for construction contract administration, staff time and inspection, for a total budget in the amount of $91,701.60. The Program required additional work and a contract change order was approved in the amount of $2,816.30, increasing the contract amount to $80,517.90. The additional work included the replacement of additional sidewalk, curb and gutter, and an increase in area for the commercial driveway approach. The approved change order amount is less than the approved contract contingency and within the authorized budget.

As shown in the table above, the actual cost of the Program in the amount of $86,266.56 is less than the budget approved by the City Council No further fiscal impact is being requested.
