SUBJECT: Acceptance of Contract Work — Community Center Flooring Improvements Project — Project No. 11192
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
1) Accept the contract work completed by New Image Interior Flooring in the amount of $39,606 for the Community Center Flooring Improvements Project —Project No. 11192 (Project); and
2) Authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion for the Project.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The Project was initiated to provide maintenance and replacement of interior flooring at the Community Center facility. Flooring replacement was completed in the Activity Room, Banquet Room, and Copy Room. The previous flooring was in excess of 20 years old and had exceeded its useful life. The contract work for the Project consisted of various items which included removal and disposal of flooring/carpet/cove base, cleaning and preparing flooring (building is on concrete slab), installation of a moisture barrier, installation and finish of new vinyl plank flooring, and the installation of new rubber cove base.
On June 26, 2023, the City Council awarded a contract to New Image Interior Flooring of Yucaipa, CA to complete the Project in the amount of $39,906. The City Council also approved the amount of $3,000 for contract contingency and the amount of $2,000 for contract administration, inspection, and staff time for a total construction budget in the amount of $44,906.
Inspections performed by staff during the course of the work and upon completion of the work have assured that the work was completed in accordance with the contract specifications for the Project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No additional fiscal impact as a result of the recommended City Council action.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 9204 of the Civil Code of the State of California, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that work on the certain project known as:

for the City of Yucaipa was completed and accepted by the City of Yucaipa on the 25th day of September 2023.
The said work was performed by New Image Interior Flooring of Yucaipa, CA in accordance with the terms of the written agreement dated the 26th day of June 2023,
