SUBJECT: Offers of Dedication from Yucaipa Valley Water District RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
1) Accept an Offer of Dedication for Public Road and Utility Purposes from Yucaipa Valley Water District on APN 0319-151-01; and
2) Accept an Offer of Dedication for Public Road and Utility Purposes from Yucaipa Valley Water District on APN 0319-121-38, 39, & 63; and
3) Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute the necessary documents to complete the offer of dedication process.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
In anticipation of conditions of approval for future development of APN 0319-151-01, the property owner, Yucaipa Valley Water District (YVWD), is offering a dedication of additional right-of-way for public road and utility purposes on 6th Street to equal a thirty-three (33) foot half -width. This Offer of Dedication provides the City of Yucaipa with the half -width right-of-way required by the City's General Plan Circulation Element. Should the offer of dedication be accepted, YVWD will proceed with street improvements, including curb & gutter, sidewalk and parkway improvements along the roadway frontage for APN 0319-151-01 consistent with the City's General Plan.
Similarly, in anticipation of conditions of approval for future development, the property owner, YVWD, is offering a dedication of additional right-of-way for public road and utility purposes on 2nd Street to equal a thirty-three (33) foot half -width. This Offer of Dedication provides the City of Yucaipa with the half -width right-of-way required by the City's General Plan circulation element.
Should the offer of dedication be accepted, YVWD will proceed with street improvements, including curb & gutter, sidewalk and parkway improvements along the roadway frontage for APNs 0319-121- 38, 39, & 63 consistent with the City's General Plan.
At this time, YVWD does not have specific plans for development of their properties, however, they would like to move forward with the street improvements which is beneficial to the general public.
City Council approval is required to accept easements or offers of dedication for public road/highways and utility purposes.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact as a result of this proposed Council action.
