2024Membership on Council Ad-Hoc & Standing Committees
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council
1. Review the current 2024 Committees Roster and advise the City Clerk of any changes to current memberships; and
2. Appoint two members of the City Council serve on the newly created Community Activity Grant Ad-Hoc Committee; and
3. Advise the City Clerk if a member of the City Council will be appointed to the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC).
DISCUSSION
Annually, the City Council reviews current memberships on the various City Council ad-hoc and standing committees and makes adjustments as necessary.
On November 27,2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2023-46, "approving general rules and procedures for the conduct of commissions and committees in the City of Yucaipa and re-establishing City Council committees, committee functions, and setting committee meeting dates and time." Per Resolution No. 2023-46, the Community Activity Grant (CAG) Application Review Ad-Hoc Committee was established, and the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) was completely restructured. The CAG Application Review Ad-Hoc committee requires two (2) members of the City Council to serve on an as-needed basis. EDAC gives the option for the Council to appoint one (l) non-voting Councilmember to serve as the liaison to this committee.
Staff recommends that the City Council review the current membership list and advise the City Clerk of any changes, appoint two (2) members to serve on the CAG Application Review Ad-Hoc Committee, and discuss whether or not to appoint a member of the Council to serve on EDAC.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact.
