Trails and Open Space Committee Appointment
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council:
l) Review the attached Citizen Service Applications and nominate one applicant for the At- Large Membership to the Trails and Open Space Committee; and 2) Vote on the appointrnent of the nominated applicant.
BACKGROUND/DISC USSION
Prior to the Trails & Open Space Committee Meeting on December 5,2023, City staff was informed of the resignation of an at-large member due to personal reasons. This resignation resulted in one (l) vacant at-large position as of January 1,2024. This at-large vacant position has an expiration date of January 1,2025.
The City has received two (2) Citizen Service Applications from residents interested in joining the Trails and Open Space Committee. Attached to this report are copies of the Citizen Service Applications received.
Any member of the City Council may nominate an individual for membership on the Trails and Open Space Committee. A majority vote of the Council is required for an appointment to be made.
Each applicant has been notified of this meeting and advised that Council typically desires their attendance to provide additional information, if needed.

Newly relocated from central Fliverside, where open space ls limited to city parks, the need to save the natural environment resonates with me. I love to hike in open space areas to enjoy the natural environment, hear the birds and watch the native species which inhabit the area. I hope to encourage the city to consider the richness of open space to preserve and protect it.
