12 plan to upgrade. The planned SMWC waterline replacement work through the intersection was originally anticipated to begin in March of 2024.
• Due to material and equipment shortages, the SMWC waterline work is now anticipated to begin in June of 2024 and will require additional temporary closures of the intersection during that construction.
• Due to SMWC's delayed waterline replacement schedule, the opening of the intersection to traffic cannot be delayed any longer.
• To open the intersection to traffic, the City of Calimesa has directed their contractor to complete any additional work necessary to open the intersection to traffic as soon as possible. • Pavement failures have also been observed after recent storm events in various locations of the intersection. City of Calimesa and Yucaipa staff are conducting an investigation to determine the cause(s) of the failures and to complete the required pavement repairs. • Both the City of Yucaipa and the City of Calimesa are working to open the intersection to traffic in mid May.
• Once all construction is complete, including the SMWC waterline upgrades, County Line Road will be repaved.
