SUBJECT: Acceptance of Contract Work - New City Yard Fencing Project — Project No. 11208 RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
1) Accept the contract work completed by AB Fence in the amount of $241,921 for the New City Yard Fencing Project — Project No. 11208; and
2) Authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion for the Project; and 3) Accept the as -built plans for the Project.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
In 2020, the City Council approved the New City Yard Relocation Project (Relocation Project), which involved removing and relocating the City Yard facilities as part of the Oak Glen Creek Specific Plan.
The Relocation Project was completed in phases and included the installation of three (3) steel structures, interior building improvements, and the design and installation of underground utilities, paving for parking and access, and the installation of fencing and landscaping.
The New City Yard Fencing Project (Fencing Project) included the installation of perimeter fencing and gates to secure the City Yard facility. The remaining phase of construction for the Relocation Project includes installation of landscaping and irrigation system.
On April 8, 2024, the City Council awarded a contract to AB Fence in the amount of $222,247 to complete the Fencing Project. The City Council also approved a contract contingency amount of $25,000, bringing the total construction contract budget to $247,247. Staff inspections were performed during construction and upon completion to ensure that the work was completed in accordance with the plans and contract specifications.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The contract work has been completed for a total cost of $241,921, which is $5,326 under the authorized construction budget for the Fencing Project.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 9204 of the Civil Code of the State of California, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that work on the certain project known as:
NEW CITY YARD FENCING PROJECT — PROJECT NO. 11208
for the City of Yucaipa was completed and accepted by the City of Yucaipa on the 28th day of October 2024.
The said work was performed by AB Fence of Beaumont, CA in accordance with the terms of the written agreement dated the 8th day of April 2024.
