Hello.
I am writing to oppose the rezoning and development of the field next to Dunlop Elementary for the Starling Heights Specific plan. I live directly behind this field and have a clear view of it from my back yard. I strongly feel that if this development was being proposed for your backyard, you would opposition as well. Tiny shoebox homes in a neighborhood were all the houses are on a half acre or more does not fit. Yucaipa is supposed to have a rural feel and this is not it. The planning commission got it right when they denied the plan.
Also, this development will put 200+ cars next to an elementary school, putting children at risk on an already very busy street, Ave E.
The developer plans to put 127 homes on 5 acres. This hardly fits with the theme and aesthetic of the "Dunlap Acres" section of Yucaipa. This is a terrible option for our city and Neiborhood and I strongly hope you will listen to your constituents and not proceed
with this development.
City council members that agree to this proposal will not have my vote in the future and I will encourage as many as possible to vote in a similar manner.
