SUBJECT: Acceptance of Contract Work — City Yard Landscaping Project — Project No. 11191 RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
1) Accept the contract work completed by David 011is Landscape Development in the amount of $214,634 for the City Yard Landscaping Project — Project No. 11191 (Project); and 2) Authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion for the Project; and 3) Accept the as -built plans for the Project.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
In 2020, the City Council approved the New City Yard Relocation Project (Relocation Project), which included removing and relocating the City Yard facilities as part of the Oak Glen Creek Specific Plan. The Relocation Project was completed in phases and included the installation of three (3) steel structures, the installation of tenant improvements inside those structures, and the design and installation of underground utilities, site/access-road paving, fencing, and landscaping.
The last phase of construction for the Relocation Project consists of the furnishing and installation of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation system at the City Yard (Project).
After going through the public competitive bid process, on February 10, 2025, the City Council awarded a contract to David 011is Landscape Development in the amount of $198,536 to complete the Project.
The City Council also approved a contract contingency amount of $20,000, and the amount of $10,000 for construction contract administration, staff time, and inspection costs bringing the total construction budget to $228,536. Staff inspections were performed during construction and upon completion to ensure that the work was completed in accordance with the plans and contract specifications.
The contract work has been completed for a total cost of $214,634, which is $3,902 under the authorized construction amount for the Project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Project was completed on budget with a cost of $214,634.
