SUBJECT: Fire Department Engine Replacement
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
1. Increase the approved fire engine replacement purchase amount by $72,763; and
2. Approve a purchase order for Fire Apparatus Solutions in the amount of $2,475,505.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On April 28, 2025, City Council approved the replacement of two fire engines in the amount of $2,402,742. There was a mathematical error on the quote and an incorrect tax rate of 7.75% was listed. The attached quote shows the corrected amount and Measure S tax rate of 8.75%. The Council approved the option for payment on delivery, Fire Apparatus Solutions has requested a purchase order be produced now as proof of the City's intent to purchase. Anticipated delivery and payment remain May to June of 2027. Payment will be made upon delivery in accordance with option #2 as selected by the City Council on April 28, 2025. All other items and details of the previous staff report remain unchanged.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommended action would result in a budgetary increase in expenditures of $72,763 to the public safety fund.
