SUBJECT: Increase to Les Schwab Purchase Order
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve an increase of $15,000 to the existing purchase order (PO) with Les Schwab Tire Center, bringing the total amount to $45,000 for vehicle and equipment tire purchases and related services.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Yucaipa Fire Department (YFD) procures services and equipment throughout the year. Certain services such as immediate tire replacement are provided by a limited number of vendors who are in the immediate vicinity of the city and can supply large vehicle tires and associated services. To comply with the City of Yucaipa's purchasing guidelines, the City Council's authorization is requested to proceed with the following PO change order. In accordance with Section 5 of the Purchasing Guidelines, the approved sole source justification memos are on file.
YFD is requesting a purchase order increase with Les Schwab Tire Center to provide tires and related services for the fire engines. Due to higher -than -anticipated calls for service in the current fiscal year and cannot wait until next fiscal year to keep the YFD fleet in-service.
The PO change order request has exceeded the City Manager approval threshold and requires City Council authorization. The FY25 Budget is not impacted by the request as the YFD has unused budget.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommendation does not result in a fiscal impact.
