FROM: Ana V. Sauseda, Director of General Services/City Clerk 4J/c' SUBJECT: Economic Development Advisory Committee Meeting Dates RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council discuss the Economic Development Advisory Committee's (EDAC) request to meet on a monthly basis.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On June 26, 2025, EDAC held their first meeting in the Community Meeting Room at City Hall. Per Resolution No. 2025-01, adopted by the City Council on January 13, 2025, EDAC shall meet on a quarterly basis with the date and time to be determined by the committee.
The goal of EDAC is to foster sustainable economic growth, enhance the local business environment, and improve the overall quality of life for residents by providing recommendations, strategies, and support to the City's economic development initiatives. The committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in the development of policies, programs, and initiatives related to economic development.
Upon discussion of the date and time of future meetings, there was consensus among the committee members to request that their meetings be held on a monthly basis instead of quarterly, in order to effectively carry out the committee's goal.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommendation does not result in a fiscal impact.
