Item No. 7

AGENDA REPORT
DATE: October 27, 2025
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Fermin Preciado, Director of Development Services/City Engineer Scott Washburn, Deputy Director of Public Works
SUBJECT: Concrete Picnic Table Purchase
RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council approve and authorize the Interim City Manager to execute a purchase contract for the acquisition of sixty (60) Concrete Picnic Tables from Outdoor Creations Inc, for the Community Center Park.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

Yucaipa's parks, particularly Yucaipa Community Park, are central to the city's recreational and outdoor life, serving as hosts for numerous events and public gatherings throughout the year. An assessment of current park infrastructure has identified a significant deficit in quality seating and picnic tables. Many existing picnic tables and benches are nearing the end of their useful life, showing signs of wear, and do not provide sufficient seating to accommodate park visitors.

The proposed picnic tables are a durable, low -maintenance, and aesthetically pleasing concrete design. Their robust construction is well -suited for high -traffic public use and provides significant resistance to vandalism, theft, or movement. This ensures a longer service life and minimal replacement costs. The picnic tables will be strategically placed in areas with high foot traffic, including around performance stages, walking paths, and picnic areas, to maximize public benefit and use.

The total estimated cost for the acquisition and installation of 60 picnic tables is approximately $71,762. This includes the cost of shipping, tax, and delivery. Funding for this purchase is included in the General Fund FY26 Budget. The proposed cost has been verified against multiple vendor quotes to ensure it represents a competitive price for quality, durable public seating.

The following table includes the quotes received from vendors for the proposed purchase.
