Following today's press release from the City of Yucaipa concerning the City Manager position, I believe it is imperative that the City Council publicly shares the qualifications, experience, and background of the final candidates prior to making a definitive selection.
This request aligns with the Council's previously stated commitment to fostering greater trust and transparency within our community. It is essential that, as we move forward in restoring confidence in our local governance, the public is afforded every opportunity to understand the caliber of individuals being considered for such a pivotal leadership role.
Allowing the community to review the credentials of the prospective candidates is not only consistent with the commitment to open government but also provides a vital avenue for public participation in a decision that will profoundly impact the future direction of our city.
We look forward to the Council upholding these principles and providing the requested information to facilitate an informed and participatory selection process.
