AGENDA REPORT
DATE: December 8, 2025
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Megan Wolfe, Director of Community Services
SUBJECT: 2025 Autumnfest Wrap-up Report
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council receive and file the wrap-up report for the 2025 Autumnfest.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The Autumnfest tradition in the City of Yucaipa has evolved significantly since its inception. The Event has grown from a small seasonal celebration to a well -established community festival that reflects the character, values, and creativity of our City. The 2025 Autumnfest marks the event's fourteenth year and provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on its origins, its development over time, and the direction in which the festival is heading as the City continues to strive for balanced budgeting, operational efficiency, and high -quality community programming.
Autumnfest began in 2012 as "Oktoberfest," an event designed to commemorate the end of the Certified Farmers Market season. Early community feedback highlighted a desire for a more family -friendly and locally reflective event. In response, the City reimagined the festival in 2013, introducing a new name, Autumnfest, and a new theme, "A Hometown Celebration." The focus shifted to all -ages programming, community partnerships, and a welcoming environment for families.
The 2025 Autumnfest was held on Saturday, September 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Historic Uptown. Although condensed to a single day, the event maintained strong attendance, similar to previous years' Saturday participation, and continued to offer activities including live entertainment, a car show, a haunted house, a kids' zone, food and merchandise vendors, and a beer garden.
The 2025 event was designed with the continued cost -management focus and the goal to financially "break-even". Last year's Autumnfest was the first time the break-even goal was achieved, and staff planned this event to repeat that goal. The following actual results demonstrate that the goal was not only met, but was exceeded:
• Revenues: $64,935
• Expenditures: $38,868
• General Fund Impact: ($26,068), a more favorable result than budgeted • In -kind support included $4,655 from Police Services and $560 from Public Works.
Because the City's chart of accounts does not allow full costing of individual events, staff attempts to quantify labor costs that are either donated or charged elsewhere in the budget through the in - kind support line. Similarly, indirect costs are not reflected in wrap-up reports. Even with these disclaimers, staff considers that financial results of Autumnfest 2025 to be a very successful.
Autumnfest's evolution over the past fourteen years reflects the power of thoughtful planning, and the City's commitment to providing accessible, enjoyable, family -centered events. The 2025 Autumnfest successfully honored tradition while demonstrating the City's ability to adapt to fiscal goals and operational needs. Staff respectfully request City Council receive and file the 2025 wrap-up report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommendation does not result in a fiscal impact.
