City Council Meeting Tonight, 3/9/26

Re: Discussion Items 8 and 9, Recission of Freeway Corridor Specific Plan Update and Related Approvals and Cancellation of Referendum Election Recommendation Remember, you are elected officials. The planning department saw the developer come in with his millions of dollars and his plan for warehouses and other mega development, and they recommended you go with it. You did not give the citizens of the City of Yucaipa adequate opportunity for input. Instead, three council members voted to spend $200,000 for an election.

Please save the money that the city can ill afford to lose. Rescind the referendums and bring it back to the people for their input
Thank you, Lori Bloom

Honorable Mayor Venable and Council:

I have great faith in the people of Yucaipa and their
ability to help this city find a course forward that
does not destroy the environment and city they call
"home" and have for decades. Vote tonight to save
your city and rebuild the trust and respect of your
constituents. They should guide your decisions, not
the State of California or city planners f rom other
counties and cities. You do not HAVE to do what
everyone else is doing --and that is to give in to
pressures put upon you by developers, property
owners, economic predictors, or others you deem
influential and turn to in the decision -making process.

Take a leap of faith --listen to your voters in your
community, and to those of us who support your city
and only share your boundary lines, and those who live
in nearby cities but do business in Yucaipa and who
also benefit your city's small business owners. This
FSP affects hundreds if not thousands of people daily
who both travel the I-10 from here to Los Angeles to
Indio --more than your city's population. The impacts
are hardest on those of us who live closest to these
areas and for me, whose home was built in 1926 and a
baseball's pitch now from the truck -climbing lanes!
Please. Save lives. Save the health and welfare of

your people. Save their hopes. Save their dreams.

Save their quality of life. Save their faith in each of you and their belief in your service to protect and
defend. Save their hearts. And, save my life. As
Nancy Reagan would say, "Just say NO!"
Thank you for hearing me once again.

Yours sincerely,

Thank you for considering to disallow the plan to add warehouses and housing as proposed in the freeway corridor specific plan. This is such beautiful and historic land that is important to save as it is. I know money can be tempting to the city in the short term but this would be a mistake that you would regret in the long run. There are many other places to put these types of projects on land that cannot support farming or agriculture. I support the rejection of the plan.

Thank you for your work to keep the city beautiful and sustainable.

Sincerely,
Julie Armantrout Kasarjian

No more ruining our land.

I live off of ourrer hwy 10 south. We can hardly get out onto out onto highway 10 south during hi volumes traffic on the freeway. The reason being that people are getting off at Yucaipa Blvd and trying to beat traffic by using it as a short cut ... it's already dangerous making a left turn off of 17th & 18th street as well as it is those coming from up on the hills

We want the town to stay rural and pleasant. Warehouses are ruining the area and wreaking havoc on the community and infrastructure.

Vote for the Freeway Corridor Specific Plan
Date:

Monday, March 9, 2026 12:15:58 PM
Dear Yucaipa City Council,
Greetings and salutations!
As to vote for the Freeway Corridor Specific Plan, I reject any commercial building complexes and taking of the grazing lands along Outer Hwy. 10 and other areas, and extensive residential home building along both sides of the 1-10 from Live Oak Canyon Rd to the Calimesa boundary. Please preserve our pristine beauty and healthy environment including its habitat we so enjoy in Yucaipa and surrounding areas!

THANK YOU,
Ingrid Kern

No warehouses and houses. We don't need to look like Orange County nor have the population.
